Hello, i wanna overclock my i7 2600k to 4.2 gighrtz ... from what i read online all i have to do is adjust the multiplier to 42? seems i dont have to adjust the voltage till above 4.5 ghtz or so? ..here is my setup and any advice would be great.
if i do need to adjust the voltage. .what would be recommended for 4.2 ghtz?

MSI P67A-GD65 MB

16 gig corsair vengance 9 9 9 24 at 1.5v DDR3 1600
120 gig SSD sata 6
antec 1200 gaming case
antec 1000w power supply made for the 1200 gaming case
MSI geforce 570 gtx
LG blueray burner
LG blueray player
500 gigibyte 7200 rpm HDD ...... my old one from a previous machine

why dont you put the voltage on auto and once you in the OS check cpuid and look at the voltages in full load :) thats what you will need in your bios :)...but its easy just adjust the multiplier until you get the desired clock and then rebooot if it goes to the os you wont have to adjust it 😛 if it doesnt put it in manual and increase it by small increments 😵

seems at a multiplier of 42 ... my core voltage is 1.312v and my idle temps are at 40C.. gonna run prime95 tonight but was curious if that voltage seemed inrange for the i7 2600k
