P4 3.6 Ghz temperature

Waht is the normal operating temperature for a pentium 4, 3.6 Ghz cpu. My asus motherboad tell me its running at 78 C. It doesn't seem to be overheating because its not shutting itself down.

It should be cooler than that but you have to think about the usage of the processor. Back when it was first released it probably did fine but with the new intense programs procs face now yours is being overloaded. You need to upgrade to a quad core. But you shouldn't worry about the temps though.
