P5Q Deluxe and Vendetta 2

Hello,

I am installing my new rig right now and I have a quick question. I have a Asus P5Q Deluxe and a Vendetta 2 heatsink. Since there's no retention bracket, do I have to purchase a retention bracket to mount the heatsink on the cpu? Another question is which way should the heatsink fan be facing?

It should come with push-pin mounting brackets that you have to screw into place on the heatsink. Some consider the push-pins difficult to use and if you wish, you can get an optional mounting kit that requires you to remove the motherboard to attach a backplate. The Vendetta 2 is basically a Xigmatek S1283 so this mounting kit should work. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233019 If I'm wrong about that, somebody please correct me.

You should mount the fan so it blows into/through the cooler towards a case fan that is exhausting.
