[SOLVED] Pairing Different but same ram?

G.Skill Trident Z Royal Silver and Gold seem to be the same except for the color. If I get 2 8gb sticks of each color will it work or will error occur?

As long as the frequency, voltage and cas latency match, I believe you're good to go. But I'm a bit sceptical if it comes to mixing RAM. Isn't it just a better idea to just buy a 2x8GB pack?

I just like spending money, and both the silver and gold sticks look nice and I can't decide on either one, though atm money is nowhere to be found so for now I just want to make sure and in the mean time maybe I actually will decide upon one of the 2

If I was you I'd just choose one onf the two. Pick the one that visually fits the rest of your components.

In that case, just build two systems: one with the gold modules, and the other with the silver ones😂

1. It can work. But it can also cause problems especially when overclocking.
2. It is better to buy 1 8x2 GB pack for compatibility. Silver or gold it is your choice.
