OK I was playing bioshock and managed to get temps of 90+C (stock fan and stock speed) which was very unusual for my card so I cleaned the dust on the fan using a hoover...

however, I noticed some paper underneath the fan and I tried to take it out but in the end it went all the way in. No idea how paper got there in the first place.

I played bioshock again after cleaning the card and temps are now back to normal (no more than 70C under load).

But wtf do I do about that small bit of paper, shall I ignore it since temps are fine again???

Thx

Yeah, I think Ill just ignore it until it becomes a problem. There are a number of small stickers on my mobo so its probably one of them that managed to get in.. somehow (since my card is upside down).

Probs harmless. :)

Have you ever removed a heat sink off of a video card before? It is simpler than you may think. Just be sure you have artic silver or something to reapply the paste when you stick it back on the card.

Taking the heat sink off will probably allow you to get the paper out. Or at least give you a better chance at it.

If it's creating no problems I say don't bother because you could just create a problem attempting to get it out (ex: voiding the warranty like you said in the process...and screwing yourself.) You would kill two birds with one stone that way...but it would be like killing two birds you really didn't want to kill.
