hey, i am going to make this real quick.

I ordered some new thermal paste, then i replaced the old with the new one just 30 minutes ago.
then when i tried to boot the pc back on, it just showed me a black screen.
then i tried removing 1 of my ram sticks for trouble-shooting, suddenly it turns back on. i tried every combination. 1-3, 2-4, doesn't work.
my motherboard tells me that the main ram slots are 2-4, but again. it doesn't work after i replaced my thermal paste.

- i don't think there is anything to do with the thermal-paste, but i just want to tell you guys the situation.
i am currently on the same pc that won't boot if i use 2 ram sticks. so it would be nice to get some answers.

Ok. My best guess is that it is your motherboard. Make sure your bios is up-to-date and that’s all I can really think of for the time being. If it’s not update it to the newest version and if you still have problems I’d say you might want to RMA your board.
Oh that’s quite odd. I just looked at another thread and one way to fix it for some people was to loosen their cpu cooler and make sure it wasn’t on their too tight and make sure it was flat. The link to the thread is:https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/cant-boot-with-dual-channel-ram.3257649/

Did you buy the ram as a kit or two sticks separately?
Dam, it didn't work.
all i can see is a yellow/orange light lighting up on the motherboard every time boot with 2 sticks

Now, this is where i hit another problem.
if i try to update my bios, my pc just won't boot to windows, and some settings are missing, even tho i made sure it is booting from the right Storage device.

but, just because i have hit a wall at this point, i am going to take out my CPU and make sure no pins have been bent, then i am going to do a complete reset on my motherboard and install the latest BIOS. who knows? pc trouble-shooting is a piece of work :/

Okay this worked for me had problem with booting with 2 sticks of ram. Put 1 stick in go to the bios and if you have ram OC put it on lower clock I know it's Ryzen try with @2666, I was on xmp @3000 I think. So reduce clock on ram and after your boot up shut down pc, then add another stick of ram. When you boot again return clock as it was. I hope you understand me, wish you luck.

Yeah, i have sent in an 'RMA' Request. i have pretty much done all that i can do. i have tried removing some components, and even try swapping them out for others...

But in the end, it didn't work :/

Thanks for replying so fast and all the useful tips :)
