Maybe someone with a similar problem can help?
I built a new rig about a year ago.

MBO: Asus ProArt Z790-Creator WiFi
CPU: i7-13700K
RAM Corsair Vengance RGB DDR 5 6000MHz CL36
GPU: Asus RTX 4070ti TUF
SSD1: Samsung SSD 970 EVO plus
SSD2: WD_Black SN859X
PSU: Corsair RM Shift 1000 Gold
OS: Windows 10 Pro

All works like a charm more or less. Thing is, after my PC is turned off for a longer period of time, for example overnight, it simply won't boot up. No sound, cpu led light or anything, except the lights near wifi antenna plug on attached picture.

So my workaround is to simply turn the power switch off , switch on, and then the power button works and it boots up.

Or I can just leave it in sleep mode forever.

If anyone has the nearest clue what it can be, and what can I do about it I would be more than grateful.

This PSU?

Did you use only the modular cables that came with the PSU?

Refer to the motherboard's manual to double check all connections especially the case connections.

Especially the System Panel Headers (Page 1-21 of the manual).

Very easy to get the connections mixed up.
Yes and yes, i will double check everything but it has been working without issue for almost a year, this just started recently.

Good starting point:

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Confirm by sight and feel that all cards, connectors, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Use a bright flashlight to look for signs of damage: bare conductor showing, melting, cracks, browned or blackened components, pinched or kinked cables, cracks, loose or missing screws, corrosion. Anything at all.

Take your time, be methodical, and be careful.

Hopefully something has simply wiggled a bit loose due to cycles of expansion/contraction and vibrations,

Is the PC turned off or in sleep mode? Those are two entirely different power states, and two entirely different scenarios to fix.

You mentioned turned off at the beginning of your question, but then ask if you should just "leave it in sleep mode forever" near the end of your question.

It sounds to me like you're letting your computer go into sleep mode and then it's refusing to wake up when you move the mouse or press keyboard button?

Or are you doing a full shutdown before walking away from the computer?

nono, the workaround for me is just to put it to sleep mode, then it comes back no problem, so the workaround is never to turn it off, just put it to sleep always instead of shutting down. But even when i turn it off, restart, whatever, it works. But when it's turned off overnight or longer, then the issue is back

The "overnight"/"never turn off" symptoms suggest ( to me anyway) that something cools down, contracts, and connectivity is lost.

And likely within the PSU because of the need to recover via the PSU's switch.

Just the initial power surge when the PSU receives outlet power may be all that is necessary to restore conectivity.

Case warms, PSU case & modular connectors warm, fans spin, etc. with just enough movement to make the connection again and all works as expected.

In sleep mode, whatever is affected simply stays warm enough or powered enough to maintain the culprit connection/component.

Check both the plugs and (carefully) the wires going into each plug are secure and wiggle free.

And thinking ahead, just in case, do you have access to another known working PSU that could be used for testing purposes? A PSU that could be temporarily swapped in to help narrow down the source of the problem.

I would go through and unplug your external USB devices one at a time (swap to a different keyboard if you have one) and see if it persists. An unexpected 5V drain may be preventing the PSU from starting properly.

This is excellent point. I'm thinking that the problem is somehow temperature related.
