Hi, my pc I’ve built exactly a year ago has had the same problems since day one. Here are my specs and below I will post what actions I have taken to try and fix it.

Windows 10 education ver.
Ryzen 7 3800x
NZXT Kraken x53 AIO
Zotac GTX 1060
ROG STRIX B550-F
Samsung 860 evo 1TB SSD
WD Blue 1TB
Corsair CX-M 650w
Corsair Vengeance Pro (2x8GB) 3200mhz
NZXT H510i

Problem:
My pc ever since I built it will randomly lock up causing the system to freeze the clock will stop working but I can still move my mouse around, open task manager, the windows menu, and select power options. I cannot close any windows or shut it down/restart the pc when I press it, then eventually it will become completely unresponsive.

Potential triggers: it happens mostly when my computer stays idle/sleeps for too long and I noticed it happens occasionally when I video call someone on it. (WeChat, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) sometimes it just randomly locks up for no apparent reason.

It doesn’t really happen when I am gaming/streaming or actively doing something in it though. (Only a couple of times)

Solutions I have tried:
-Updated BIOS with the newest version
-updated all the drivers I could Ethernet, cpu, can’t remember
-Downloaded Samsung magician and updated driver firmware
-Ran disk defrag and repair in CMD window
-Did the built in windows mem test
-Reinstalled windows (not a clean install, I kept my programs and documents)

At this point I think it might be a hardware issue but I can’t pinpoint what.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
Ok so try uninstalling all of the razer synapse, and any other Razer program you may have installed. See if this helps at all. The distributed Com error would not cause windows to freeze.
