Hi,
I have recently put together a second PC for guests to use. For the motherboard, I used an ASUS Z97-A board that I got used a couple of weeks ago. I put an i3 on the board and it worked perfectly outside the case, turning it on using the on board power button. However, today when I put the board in a case, it didn't power on, no fans spun, but all LEDs lit up. No display either. It can't be the CPU socket, as I haven't removed the i3 since I first installed it. I have tried removing the CMOS battery for 10 mins and reseating it, but nothing happened. I even swapped out the memory but still no power. I wasn't careless with the board, leaving it on an anti-static mat while I waited for a case. I am using a Corsair CX550 power supply that I know for a fact works. I am thinking that I might have flicked a switch I wasn't meant to or something, I rarely get to use these higher end boards and don't know what 90% of the switches do.
The total specs are:
Intel Core i3-4130 @ 3.40GHz
ASUS Z97-A
Corsair CX550
Radeon HD 7850
Hitachi DeskStar 500GB HDD
1x8GB SPECTEK 1600MHz
TITAN CPU Cooler with MX-2 Thermal Paste
Cheap Used PCSpecialist Case
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Daniel
