[citation][nom]blazorthon[/nom]Nope. M$ refuses to increase it's support any more. It's already on extended life support and it is highly unlikely that it will have another extension.[/citation]
We will see...I feel like I read before that they wouldn't extend it, and then they did. However, with windows vii they really have less of a reason to.

They had to extend it after first saying they wouldn't because of how badly Vista failed. This time, they have 7 out and 8 on the way. I highly doubt that XP will get another extension now that there really isn't much reason to.

Makes sense. I used 8 some more this morning...guess I'm getting old as I really still don't care for Metro. 8 does run quite well as a Parallels VM, I have a feeling that's as close to it as I'm going to get this year.

Look up "classic Shell" on softpedia.com and you should be able to work around Metro if you can't learn to live with it without getting a little annoyed by it. I'm still stockpiling different workarounds for it... I'm not doing it quickly because as of right now, it doesn't seem to be something that I should place as a high priority on my to-do list until Windows 8 goes into the mainstream.
