Question PC won't boot after shutdown or sleep. Otherwise fine for weeks when turned on.

My PC often refuses to boot post shutdown or sleep. No motherboard lights nothing. To circumvent this problem, I just leave the PC on for weeks, months on end. But that obviously isn't sustainable.

When this issue does occur, I usually just wait around 12-24 hours and the PC boots when I try after a while, and booted by itself in one instance.

Things I tried. (Nothing worked)

• Resetting CMOS.
• Shorting power on pins with a screw driver.
• Unplugging all cables and holding down power switch.
• Reseating ram, and trying with only 1 ram plugged in.
• A different power supply. (So I don't think it's the PSU)
• Various bios updates/versions.
• Booting without various permutations of parts.
• Turning off fast boot in Bios

The specs are;

• Ryzen 5 2600
• GTX 1070
• Corsair CX 550 2017
• Crucial sport 3.2 GHz 2x8 GB
• Gigabyte B450M DS3H mobo

do you have multimeter? check power button pins on mainboard if there is 5volts there

Alright, I'll do that and get to you. Are you referring to the 24pin for the mobo?

Most likely motherboard issue ,i had same problem with my gigabyte board .In the end it didn't post at all .Bought a new one and the problem was fixed
