Don't confuse PCI with PCI-ex. Yes, this will probably be the last stop for AGP, but don't worry, the first generation of PCI-ex. cards will have PCI-ex.-AGP adapters.

Tit for tat, butter for fat, ATi's dog kicks nVidia's cat

And also don't confuse PCI-X with PCI-EX (like I did at first [WELL they drop the 3GIO name! Dumba$$es!])
My current Dual AMD mobo has PCI-X, but that will not work! Dang!

You can read about them and my 'LOVE' of them in my old thread <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=355008#355008" target="_new">HERE</A>.

Ohh the possibilities are Endless. HeHE! I've even seen board 'previews' that suggest there will be 12 PCI-EX 'slots' on new motherboards. AWESOME! And yes there will be AGP/PCI-EX adapters on the early cards (R420/RV380) according to ATI. Mmm can't wait! CAN'T WAIT!

d00d, you're more than a day late and a dollar short. I've been talking about this since before AGP8x cards hit the market (back when they were just talking about them). I told everybody that AGP8x was a useless upgrade to the standard because by the time we can use that bandwidth, PCI-Express would be around. Most people were still calling it 3GIO back then.
