Well this could be <A HREF="http://theinquirer.net/?article=20717" target="_new"> the answer. </A>

So maybe that when builder will become more knowledgeable about the art of building PCIe motherboard, then there will be a performance increase from today's board... Does that mean that it is better to wait for more boards to appears before switching to PCIe..

%$?@ing typo...

The ref to nothing is due to the somewhat modest gains over 8x agp. Price vs performance gain = value only in the eyes of the beholder.

I just built a system and I'm having an extremely difficult time getting the bios to recognise the pci-e graphics card that I'm now regretting buying.

The PCI-E X600 pro would definately outperform the ATI radeon 9200 that works in the system but something's not right (flashed and updated bios and all settings are correct) but I still can't get my ECS
915P-A to see the RADEON X600 PRO

it's on a ECS 915P-A it has a AGP-Express slot on it too to make it somewhat backward compatable... the 9200 is one of the cards listed as compatable and it works (like a 9200) in that slot... My problem is my X600 isn't working on the PCI-E slot... and there's no real reason that I could think of why it shouldn't. I flashed with the latest BIOS update (to kill this peky problem I had with the computer becomming useless once ANYTHING wrote to the CMOS (including date or time so whenever xp loaded it meant I had to reset the cmos before it would boot again). They did benchmarks using the 915P-A on this site so I figured I wouldn't be having these problems... now I'm even wuestioning whether the graphics card is any good since I don't have another pci-e mobo lying around to test it on.
