Pentium D 930 vs D 945

I'm building this new rig. Can you tell me what's the deal with the new D945. I can't find it in the charts. It is better than the D930 ? Pls help !

Yes it is better!

But if you're looking to build a new CPU try an Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) or an AMD X2. They all offer much better performance and performance per watt than the Pentium D series, for not that much extra cash.
 
thanks for the info...i'l buy the 6600 Conroe...............but ....if it still counts.......whats the difference betwen 930 and 945....I still don't know that and i like staying up to date whith things...I only know that the 945 doesn't support virtualization....what are the other differences.....?...thanks again guys
 
It appears that virtualization is only in B1 stepping processors, IE the newest stepping of them, which is only available in 920, 930, 940, and 950 processors. See there you go, I learned something new today.

PS- the new 950 replaced the old 945.
 
I only meant I didn't know specifically what CPU's Intel was selling that had the tech and which didn't (I don't really follow Intel much). Thanks for all the info though, it's always better to get too much than not enough.
