Question Persistent Game Crashes - Radeon 6600? Or Something Else?

Hello! I have recently been experiencing persistent crashes, complete reboots - but only while playing games. No issues during other tasks. Temps for CPU and GPU always remain between 30-60 C.

Sometimes, this happens immediately when the game is opened - especially the more graphically intense ones. Other times, it may take 5-15 minutes for it to crash.

Does anyone have any suggestions based on the following? I'm thoroughly stumped 🙄

Current setup (Recently upgraded)
CPU
: Ryzen 7 5700X
MB: Gigabyte B550M
RAM: 32 GB XPG Spectra D35
GPU: Radeon RX 6600
SSD: 2 Samsung 860 EVOs (512 and 1 TB, respectively)
PSU: CoolerMaster Masterwatt 750 (3.5 years old)
OS: Windows 11 Pro

What I have tried
  • GPU: Uninstalled and reinstalled Radeon drivers (using their Cleanup utility each time)
  • GPU: Used Eco mode in Adrenaline
  • GPU: Undervolted the GPU
  • GPU: Rolled back drivers (tried a set from 2 months ago, and a set from 1 year ago)
  • GPU: Switched to my previous GPU (Rx 570) and tried to install drivers. Computer crashed during installation of Adrenalin. Was able to install Pro drivers. Game then crashed as usual.
  • GPU: Limited the GPUs FPS to 60
  • GPU: Reseated GPU
  • GPU & CPU: Stress tested both of them with OCCT for 10 minutes at near 100% capacity - no crashes, interestingly
  • CPU: Installed updated drivers
  • RAM: Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic - no issues found.
  • SSD: Ran Samsung Magician and CrystalDiskInfo and each drive is between 95-100% health.
  • BIOS: Updated to newest version
  • BIOS: Enabled XMP profile so that RAM operates at 3200 mHZ
  • OS: Reinstalled Windows 11 (deleted all partitions and started fresh)
  • PSU: Replaced the old 8 pin connector with a new one (modular PSU)
In spite of all of these efforts at troubleshooting, the problem still persists...

Thank you for your time and help!!!

Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, Nvidia and AMD) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

BIOS: Updated to newest version
For the sake of relevance, please mention the version for your BIOS that you'd flashed to. Also, did you clear the CMOS after verifying your BIOS flash was successful?

OS: Reinstalled Windows 11 (deleted all partitions and started fresh)
Did you recreate your bootable USB installer for your OS? Did you install the OS in offline mode, to later install all drivers manually in an elevated command, to later connect to the internet to update the OS?

PSU: Replaced the old 8 pin connector with a new one (modular PSU)
You might want to source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built PSU from a friend or neighbor that can deliver 550W of power to the entire system and see if the issue persists.

I took a few days to troubleshoot, but the problem still persists... 😒

In line with LutFij's suggestions, I have now tried:

GPU: Uninstalled all drivers with DDU in safe mode and reinstalled drivers in an elevated command
BIOS: Installed the most recent version. Flashed to version FEe and did clear the CMOS successfully
OS: Reinstalled Win 11 in offline mode, and deleted all partitions again. Installed all drivers manually in elevated command, and then connected to the internet for the OS to update.
Hardware: I have also broken everything down and reseated everything (CPU and new thermal paste, CPU cooler, GPU, RAM, all fans, etc). FYI: The CPU had no discernable damage, no bent pins.
PSU: I don't know anyone who has a suitable PSU, but in the BIOS settings, the PSU seems to be acting normally. I'm concerned it's a driver/CPU issue due to the following:

In the past few days, I have found a way to replicate the problem by going to Device Manager>Display Adaptors>GPU>Properties>Driver>Driver Details

(By the way, I have also tried removing older instances of RyzenMaster in the System Registry, didn't fix. I also adjusted the TDR values, didn't fix.)

Whenever I do click on Driver Details, 4 out of 5 times, the computer hard crashes. In Windows Event Viewer, this is the error that preceded the crash:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 0

The details view of this entry contains further information.

This wouldn't be a huge issue if it was only happening while gaming, but now, the computer will sometimes hard crash when it is idle...

If anyone can offer any advice, I would be truly appreciative! 🤝😔
