HI guys,

My pc case is a NZXT Phantom 410 and I wanted to change the stock fans in it and I wanted to know a few things:

1. What are the Best/Quietest 140mm and 120mm fans on the market,

2. What is the best way to set up the fans in my case?

currently, i have a single 120mm intake at the front, a 120mm exhaust at the rear, and a 140mm exhaust at the top. is that layout okay? or what other setup should i use? i was thinking of swapping out the front 120mm fan for a 140mm.

and lastly, the Phantom 410 has a case fan controller but my motherboard (msi z97 GD65) has a built in fan controller aswell. which should i use?

Thanks a million,

Bryan

Solution
Noctua for sure.

That fan layout is perfect. No need to change it at all. You could put a 140 in the front if you won't but it won't change anything.

I would use the case fan controller so you can use the switch on the case itself for controlling the speed.

One advantage of going 140mm, is they tend to be quieter, than a 120mm fan of the same series. If the case supports 140mm, I would go with those. Noctuas are great, but can be expensive, and some find them visually unappealing. I think they have released some that are not the typical ugly brown, though. Another one to look at would be Corsair. Their fans are pretty decent too.

i think i need to replace the top fan though because it wobbles as it spins and makes more noise than i think it should :)

okay thanks guys! i think ill get two new 140mm fans (not corsair) and replace the top one and the front one. ill keep the same layout and ill keep using the case fan controller :)
