i will push it to about 3.5 if it will stay safe with stock cooler.
what is the max you have got yours to? i see you are running it at 3.8 but have you gotten it higher. what cooler do you have on it?

Well today i hit 3.975Ghz for about 5 min and it crashed.... But its not the CPU's fault, its my motherboard...

I am looking at 2 motherboards that I know will get me beyond 4Ghz, but I can't decide...lol

As far as the cooler I am using, its the AC Freezer Pro 64 and Artic Silver 5 paste..... [:jaydeejohn:5]

Somehow I missed this post, I guess I overlooked and was not paying attention... Yea I tried installing Vantage and it didn't work... of course should have read the requirements first....

Gonna install Win 7 soon and upgrade my GPU to a GTX 260(216) with BFG's trade-in program....So hopefully I will be able to get some real numbers... [:jaydeejohn:5]

Ok guys, check this out...
I made a small discovery...

It turns out that 3DMark06 will give lower scores in Vista and Win 7 than it does in XP...
My CPU score is about 300 points lower in Win 7 than it is in XP...
Here are some screen shots...

The comparisons were made at 3.2Ghz on Windows XP 32 and Windows 7 64

Windows 7 running on my unlocked 550...

A closer look at the score in windows 7

Windows XP score

So in conclusion if anyone is comparing scores from Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 be sure to know that they will differ a little bit, windows XP is going to have higher scores...
So now I'm sure my CPU is as good as the 955, probably not better but just as good...
YAY 550!!! Way to go AMD...

I don't think that is accurate due to what i came up with....

@ 3.555Ghz i get a CPU score of 2995 while you get a 4849 @ 3.2Ghz .... makes no sense at all.... the reason you are getting inaccurate scores is due to 06 not being fully compatible with win 7......Bench in Vista and see what you get......

06 with XP Pro :

Remember that my CPU is unlocked so it's a phenom II X4 B50...that's why it gets better scores.
And btw scores in vista are similar to windows 7 scores

Maybe...I'm running on G.Skill DDR3 1333Mhz
As I said, your score is amazing...now think how much better it could be if you were running on DDR3

the difference is the timing.
the lesser amount memory is
Cas Latency 7
Timing 7-7-7-20

the more expensive memory is
Cas Latency 7
Timing 7-7-6-18

Excatly...I bet those are the same chips but programmed differently...
I guess they are just trying to make more mony off of the same chips...
And yeah, there is no major difference...
