Nice scores Jim...They pretty much match mine...It seems as though these 550s are getting better performance than the 940s and the 955.... They even beat the Core2 Quads... and only for 100 buckaroos!!!
Way to go AMD! 😛

Wow Jim, you're running the stock cooler and getting those temps? I really want the air conditioner you have in your house 8(

Great numbers, great job 8)

I just ordered my second 550.... I guess newegg is seeling them like hot-cakes....I have a feeling these chips will soon be out of stock, just like the 7750's and it will be hard to get at a reasonable price.....

And btw:

Nice scores with stock cooler JIM!!!! but dont push it too far :non:

Yes Sir,

Antec 900 : I have to take it apart and paint insides all BLACK + install a bigger window with dual 120mm fans....
UD4P (790XT) + x2 550 + Dark Knight
4Gb of G.Skill DDR3 1333Mhz
4890 or 4870x2... not sure yet....
XtremeGamer
850w PSU
Blue Ray drive
24" Samsung HDMI 1080p
Scythe fan controller
Techflex sleeving, uv cathods, etc....

The dam 902 went back to 169.99 and it is out of stock. I purchased mine 3 months ago @ 127.99 with free shipping... Newegg changes the price almost every day...Got lucky with the 550 and was able to get it @ 99.99 and not 114.99 like it was a week ago....

Yea, I just ordered mines this morning... hopefully I will be able to unlock it with no issues.... Last time I tried unlocking a 550 it was kinda unstable... While it did unlock, anything over 3.6 GHZ would lock up the PC.... Locked it back up and hit 3.901Ghz stable... anything over that would BSOD....

PS : Newegg does ROCK !!!! been buying from them since 2002 ...

Hi, :hello:

Give ALL the credit to the Antec 900 case...I live in Arizona, current 2pm temp 111 deg. Digital thermostat set to 78 deg at all times. I did add one Antec 120m Tri cool fan to the door, it faces the VC & CPU it's my Sys2 fan on Mobo. The other 4 fans can not be controled by fan controller on computer, there is a manual speed control on each fan [Low/Med/High]. With all fans on high it is a bit noisy, after a week you no longer hear them 😍

Picked up the case at my local Frys...>Case was $99.99 @ http://www.frys.com/search?search_type=adv&resultpage=0&sqxts=1&order_by=s00d&pType=&cat=44510&query_string=Antec&minprice=&maxprice=&x=12&y=10

OvrClkr;

Ahh, good choice then. For that price you really can't beet the 550.

ouch~! 169.99 is a lot. My dad has the older 900 and i just picked up the CM690.. brought it over to his house so he could take a look, he said he really liked it. Got it for the 64.99 or whatever, so for the price you really can't beet it. Then again... the antec 900 was going for about 100 at the time... i spent 65 on the CM 690 and another 40$ on 4x 140mm fans... so .. shmeh =D

Your friend is going to love that machine. If i had to pick i would say 4890, then put a second one in later if needed, but you would know more about all that that me =P

Sorry i think Jim was posting when i was posting, so now i have to reply to him ^^

Yeah the Antec 900 or 902 is an amazing case. Very well built from the ground up. Not to sound like a bad son, but i probably would have gotten a 900 if my dad didn't already have one. I have to be just a liiiittle different.

Yea, I have worked with almost all the Antec line.. 300,900,902,1200, p180, solo, etc....

As far as gaming goes and price to performance the 900 is unbeatable if you can get it for 109.99 or less....its like a friggin tornado with all fans on high...

The CM690 is a sweet purchase due to its price.... Next build I might consider a 690 (nvidia edition) and modify... who knows...

The best thing you can do to a 900 is take it apart and paint the inside black, the get 4 red LED fans and turn it into a custom 900...Something different then everyone else... you will have peeps asking you, what case is that? just reply, its the new antec 901....lol

of course this is just an example.... you can do tonz of different things to case.. specially a 900....

Hey guys,

I went to ask a question but my question turned out to be rather long. I don't want to disrespect videl by jacking his post, so i held off on posting it without approval from you all.

I would go ahead and make a new thread, but i like the input from you guys here, OvrClkr, videl, Jim, xtc, so i want your guys' input. (This is also why i didn't just PM you OvrClkr, i like the group discussions ; ) )

So would you guys mind?

Im sure well get around to reading it pretty quick! On a side note. Does anyone else dislike popsicles with a wooden stick? I cant taste anything but wood... yuck!

Thats exactly what I just ate and I cant taste anything but wood with tha after taste of fudge. Anyway oh an antec 902 gotcha. I want some more older CPUs any body got one they might let me add to my collage? They wont be used in a machine just below the glass as display so even dead chips will work.

lol display.......I have a couple but not for display...lol 😀

well if anyone does come across one or two dead or way obsolete that I can get for DISPLAY, I would take it off your hands. It just looks cool to have them all lined up under the glass.

I'd like to see what kind of display, should look cool having a few oldschool chips with their name on the side...You mean like a wall display? Something that can hold 4 to maybe 8 chips side by side with see thru acrylic. That would be nice...
