Please review $1000 gaming build

Hiya

Would greatly appreciate help on building new gaming rig- with best price to value and future proofing


Approximate Purchase Date: NOW
Budget Range: $800-$1000 before rebates
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Hardcore gaming, Watching movies/TV, Light clerical stuff
Parts Not Required: Monitor, 2x2GB DDR2 RAM sticks (will probably need more RAM), Antec 900 case, Corsair VX 550W ATX (May need new power supply, not sure)

SLI or Crossfire: Possibly SLI? I play mostly MMORPGS, which can be pretty graphics intensive and I want to have the option to upgrade that to future proof my build at least a little!

As a gaming rig you do not currently gain from 2600K over the I5 2500K. Go with 2 x 4GB ram and a good storage drive and your current PSU is fine with a single card setup.
(DDR2 ram will not work in that system)

This board down below has the new PCI-E 3.0 slots for the new generation vid cards due out whenever. It just hit the shelves a few days ago. btw if you notice on newegg...the one bad review the moron purchased a cpu that doesn't o/c (non "K" cpu)

I feel like too many badges turn people into morons. Which is why why_me u r a moron.
The dude said "Cant get any oc from this mobo and a 2500k. Runs fine at default settings and speeds. I didnt buy a "k" cpu, and this mobo to run everything stock. I will keep trying a few more days, then return time." Highlighted it for u as apparently u can't follow punctuation.

Also I'm pretty tired of u recommending this board in every freakin post. So what that it has PCI 3.0 .. by the time GPUs will use it all the way other parts will come out and everything will change. Most of Z68 chipsets will nopt let u overclock ur K-series (just like that dude bought) past 4 Ghz mark. They are usefull if u do a lot of video processing and need SSD cache. If u want to oc go with P67 and there is no reason to spend extra money for Z68 with 2 PCI when u can get P67 with one and just use one GPU .. like 6950 2Gb instead of 560ti

The price difference on those two boards is the $7 shipping charge. If you don't like me recommending that board then tough sh*t for you...skip my post. If it came down to that Gigabyte board and the Asrock board for the difference of shipping price which was made up with the combo's I posted, it's that Asrock board hands down.

btw what board you recommend for that budget? Come on champ, let's see it.

madchemist83 I am sorry but what you said about Why_Me is totally wrong. he helps people find what they are looking for. If he recommends one board all the time it is for a reason. The m must be a great board for the value.
He helped me pick all the parts for my build, and now I wait for them to come by mail. I know I made the right choice sticking to his advice, and I know my build will be just great.
Also, it would be a lot smarter to private message him that reply of yours, instead of having to waste room and time in this thread.
