Ok, so I am tired of having slow internet and paying $2 a gigabyte for it.
But there is a new Fiber ISP that provides 50Megabit/second internet speeds, sadly they don't come to our house. However we have line of sight to a stout but wide radio tower about 0.9KM away (over a little inlet, measured on Google Earth). I have two questions:
If they were leasing space on this tower how much should we expect to pay for a small point to point antenna?
What type of antenna(s) should we get. Ideally something that could take a Fiber cable in at one end and output Ethernet at the other. But having a modem at either end wouldn't be a huge deal.
Basically:
Fiber Cable ->
(modem)->
Point to Point antennas (1KM~) ->
(modem)->
My house

Oh and we already have a hole drilled from the roof to the main wiring cabinets. So how much can I expect to pay and can anyone recommend something (I found one site but their "cheapest" option costs $3.5K (with that much money we could run our own Fiber cable!), not to mention it can only handle 45Megabit/second in the best possible conditions).

Thanks in advance!
PS: How will this hold up in weather?
