So, I've decided to splash some cash and do a major upgrade of my current system, could anyone have a glance at the parts I'm looking at and give some advice on whether it's ok or suggest better parts etc - it will all be running with a Gigabyte 3080 ti and a 1000w Asus PSU on a 1440p monitor, all of which I currently have.

https://www.scan.co.uk/wishlists/7e04bdf2-a5bb-4651-92e7-6514b5e207d6

In terms of my budget - £900 would be the absolute max I'd be willing to spend

This would be better, for not much more than what your link was.

Please stylize your post like this thread, in order for the community to understand what you're working with.

The 3 parts listed in your link are alright for the most part, but you're best off going with a DDR4-3600MHz kit. how are you planning on cooling that i5? Please keep in mind, you'll need to reinstall your OS once the motherboard/platform is swapped, in case you don't have a bootable USB installer at hand.

Ah right sorry, I'm new to this site. I was looking at a Noctua NH-D15 cooler, I saw somewhere that it was highly recommended. I was planning on doing a full on fresh install of Windows once I get all the parts, I currently have two HDDs which I'd rather not have so was looking to get a 3rd M.2 to replace them.

D15 is excellent, but you wouldn't need something that costly or that heavy unless you intend a serious overclock.....which fewer and fewer people are attempting nowadays.

After the rebuild......when it's done......what drive situation do you want to end up with? I'm referring to internal drives only.

How many 2.5 inch SSDs and what size? How many M.2 and what size? How many spinning drives and what size?

Do you have any idea of the total size requirements in GB for your Windows installation plus all installed applications? How many GB for data alone?

I've never dabbled in overclocking as it's out of my comfort zone with what I know about so what cooler would you recommend for running the CPU out of the box?

Storage wise I was looking to have Windows on its own M.2 so wouldn't need a high capacity drive. I do play a LOT of games so would need at least 2TB of additional storage. I like clean aesthetics so the least amount of cables in the case the better so I'm not looking to have anything other than M.2 drives.

The "D" in D15 stands for dual. As in "dual tower"......the 2 separate vertical columns of fins you see.

Look for a Noctua with a U rather than a D. Those are single towers. Cheaper, lighter, and plenty strong enough for anything other than a heavy overclock on the 12600K. Such as the U12S or U14S. There are several variants of each on Noctua site.

You need to confirm case and RAM clearance is not an issue. Tools to do that are on Noctua site. Look for "compatibility lists".

I would NOT put Windows ONLY on a drive. Maybe you didn't mean that. Normally you'd want Windows and installed applications on one drive. Probably your fastest drive.

Some people also put their data on that same drive. Some don't. Personal choice.

Windows alone, fully updated, takes under 30 GB.

You're the world's foremost authority on your storage requirements....how much you need and the growth rate of that total. Get a grip on those numbers.

Ideally....you may want ALL data on one (possibly huge) drive, but your budget may not permit that.

Avoid spinning drives if possible.

@IAmRooby this would be the better option imo.

Thank you all so much for your replies. I'm going to have a proper look through all the recommendations tomorrow (it's 11pm for me and Spider-Man No Way Home has finished and it's time for bed haha).
