If its a Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, AMD Phenom I or II or AMD dual core it is. Older than that you will have to check on the CPU manufacturer's site.

Also if you still have the packaging for the CPU it will state on the packaging if its 64 bit processor.

PS: For future reference, if you give us more details we gave give better help.

All AMD processors since 03 have been 64 bit. Athlon 64, Sempron, Athlon X2, Sempron X2, Phenom, Phenom II.

All Intel Core2Duo and Core2Quad along with Core I7 are 64 bit. I'm not sure about Pentium 4/Pentium D. I also know the older Core Solo/ Core Duo for laptops were 32 bit only.

Core Solo and Core Duo for laptops was kinda a strange one, performance wise a step forward but the 32bit only thing was weird. I know that all the 65nm Pentium 4s and Pentium Ds(all of them if memory serves) where 64bit. So where many Pentium 4 single cores.

From intel pentium list

45 nm
E5400 2 MB L2 2.70 GHz 800 MHz
E5300 2 MB L2 2.60 GHz 800 MHz
E5200 2 MB L2 2.50 GHz 800 MHz
65 nm
E2220 1 MB L2 2.40 GHz 800 MHz
E2200 1 MB L2 2.20 GHz 800 MHz
E2180 1 MB L2 2.00 GHz 800 MHz
E2160 1 MB L2 1.80 GHz 800 MHz
E2140 1 MB L2 1.60 GHz 800 MHz

every of those are 64bit. all newer are ... all the core2duo core2quad and newer are 64bit capable.
