I have been reading the posts from popegoldx and a couple of things have been consitent.
He is "definately" against Intel. At least to the degree that he continues to make sure that all bad news about Intel is heard. (Which "he?" justifies by saying he wants to uncover the "Intelliots".)
Keep in mind this is "NOT" something that I necessarily consider bad. Intel has, pretty recently, been involved in a hefty handful of things that have been bad for the computer industry in general. (And of course, there were even more problems related to their handling of affairs in the past.)
Another thing that has been "consistent" is that popegoldx has been correct.
Now his delivery, his abrasiveness, his lack of tact, his colorful language, all put aside plain and simply in the end stripped of it's metaphors, stripped of it's flowery language, most of what has been said of Intel, (and specifically Prescott), has proven to be true. (Also, I believe that much of the aformentioned attributes of his posts are intended for those purposes.)
I see some posts, "If Prescott has heat problems at .09 imagine what it will be like at .13".
Well maybe we don't have to imagine?
Maybe the Prescotts that have been going out to test have been .13 Prescotts.
Yes, Intel origonally said that Prescott would be .09 but you can be assured that they indeed meant that to be "production Prescotts". Perhaps what has been going around were "Preproduction Prescotts at .13" because the .09 wasn't working. (That could account for the unexpectedly increased heat dissapation?)
Now, they have come clean and said it will be shipped at .13?
Of course, without having any additonal information, it is also very likely that the ones being seen are indeed .09 and Intel decided that the .09 chips would not be able to function longterm dissapating that much heat, so they will go back to a larger die that dissapates more heat, but ultimately less proportionately over the entire surface area.
In the end we will know for sure, but now it's all speculation.....
