Hello, this is copy from my reddit post at: View: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/1046172/primary_monitor_randomly_drops_in_refresh_rate/
Hi there, to start off here are my specs, and the cause of this problem is unknown right now (literally happens randomly), and the monitor in question is S2721DGF.I am starting to find this problem really annoying but I have no idea at all what could be causing it. My usual background apps are this and my Cpu and Gpu load is never maxed whenever my first monitor starts to lag, and I know it's not my pc lagging because my second monitor is perfectly fine, both at 165hz, with the second monitor being 1080p and first one being 1440p. At first I thought this was because of my gpu and cpu overclock but it wasn't since it persisted when I switched to stock then undervolt. So it wasn't that, so now I'm lost. Thanks
edit: want to add that in some cases this happened right after alt tabbing or pressing windows + d to go to desktop, but that could have been coincidence.
