[citation][nom]InvalidError[/nom]It may have the largest screen among portable consoles but the ~$200 price point is getting flooded with 6-8" tablets that kind of redefine the display size people expect to see at that price point.Personally, gaming even on a 7" screen for stuff much beyond Cut-the-Rope, Fruit Ninja and Bad Piggies is not particularly enjoyable.[/citation]
I did say portable gaming systems meaning consoles specifically; no matter how much I try, I can't get into the majority of games that use touch-screen controls primarily. There's just not enough control to enjoy them. Emulators, fighting games, etc., that are designed with the touchscreen version of direction controls and buttons just leave too much of the screen real estate covered by fingers and become worthless to play on. Alternatively, the screen is too big (for tablets instead of phones) to be comfortable playing games in that manner for long.
The Vita is very comfortable to hold and to play for hours at a time. It's also powerful enough to handle any portable game out there, and the screen is fantastic. Unfortunately it's mostly crippled by lack of support from Sony (overpriced memory sticks and games, lack of original titles, and lack of compatible games on PSN that there's no reason to be missing, such as Final Fantasy, games available in other regions, etc.) and a transition to casual gaming (phones).
