They didn't wait, they just did a kind of industrial espionage... if I remember correctly the PS3 original contents weren't the ones that they have now, for example the Sixaxis has some of the Wii's functionalities... that whole "Home" concept is just an imitation of Microsoft's Live experience... Sony is no longer a leader but instead it became the follower. Tbh the only thing that could tip the scale towards Sony side were the amount of videogames available, and it seems those exclusives they so much bragged about aren't going to be exclusives anymore. Ultimately, the game developers will launch their hard work on all of the platforms and the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC will have the same oportunity to shine... the DX10 games will be huge when they hit the shelves, and to spend 600$ in a console that will soon become obsolute rather than invest in a top notch computer is just pure nonsense. For me the purpose of a console is just to hang with friends and play multiplayer games on hot seat where u can just plug in and have fun in the simplest of ways, do not compare the potential of a PC against PS3 because it's just plain ridiculous.
