I had a go on a PS3 resonly and I think my AMD400+ 1GB RAM and X800XT PE graphics card produce a better gaming experience than the PS3. My PC cost me $700 AU, $250 cheaper than a PS3. I found it to be sluggish in Call of duty 3 and the other games that I tried weren't anythng special. Nothing compared to FEAR or oblivion (oblivion doesn't run that well on my PC though.).

Chug-a-lug chug-a-lug woo woo!!! It just keeps on going.

Seriously, This thread started over a year ago. The PS3 wasn't even close to being out yet when mechluke started this bs thread.

He only made one stupid reply and then left.

mechluke isn't here, he isn't listening, he doesn't care

If you guys took the time to look back, everything that is being said now has already been said over and over again.

Looking at the folding results PS3 pawns all. In under a week it blew all PCs out of the water. .

Oh snap!~ That's what Sony should have been putting in their ad campaign. Maybe that would have rescued their dismal sales figures!

"PS3: It Folds Better that a Wii or 360"

I just wanted to point out the sales aren't that bad compaired to the PS2 release. The BBC aren't really fan boys and girls

What gets my goat is the fact that certian games I used to enjoy are now (not) made for the PC.I don't care what system is better ..that will always be a subjective kinda deal, based on the persons understanding and his/her console or PC configuration at the time.

We as gamers are getting shafted.

O.K. there seems to be a lot of pissing and moaning about this thread going on forever so I'm now unsubscribing to it and I won't post again.

I mean it now never again. Well.. unless some jackasses continue to argue for the sake of their clearly inferior consoles.

PS3 is powerful than high end PC.

Killzone kill all !!! Uncharted and 8 days are too good. I never see games like this.

Well Hunglo, It appears our greatest fear has happened

here we go again

@ fox, please read the thread, then post.

And the screenshots still don't have anything on Crysis, so your argument is pointless

a cell processor and a 7800GTX GPU simply does not beat high end PCs

Let's see the PS3 do this:

Thanks Crazy_Fox,

Looking at those screen shots was like taking a walk down memory lane of what a PC was capable of over a year ago.

Every now and again its good to get a reminder of what we thought good graphics look like.

I'm so glad that the PC has progress and we no longer have to put up with inferior graphics.

Congrats do go to Sony though for releasing the cheapest blue ray player in Australia on the markett It is also capable of playing games and surfing the net.

Eventually I may buy a PS3 as its a cheap blue ray player and i can play singstar etc on it from my current ps2.

Eventually I may buy a PS3 as its a cheap blue ray player

I've heard this argument many times, I think it has major flaws.

1st - yes it's cheap... compared to the FIRST GENERATION players on the market. Wait 2-3 years, and you'll be spending $100-$200 on a player... not $1000.

2nd - Having owned a Sega CD (cheap CD player), Xbox (cheap DVD player)... I have always drifted towards a stand alone player. Over the long haul, the Console players are inferior to 2nd and 3rd generation players. It's also a hassle to boot the whole console up and navigate the menus vs. a standalone (just press power).

Were you really going to buy a Blue Ray this year??? If the answer is yes, then it makes sense. If the answer is no, then the PS3 is NOT a cheap Blue Ray player.

I think a lot of people who spent $$$ on the PS3 are just looking for a justifcation of the purchase. Had they not bought PS3, I doubt many of them would be as interested in Blue Ray this year or next.

first off a high does ps3 only support resolutions at 720i or p? or does it support 1080i or p?? isnt the 1080i resolution something like 1920 x 1080??

high end pc could game at 2560 x 1600 .. which kills any high defintion television which only a ps3 or xbox360 are playable on.

therefore pc's could handle outputs (monitors) which also supeiror to the outputs (televisons) that a ps3 is used with. which equals better details utilmatly on pc's. Also a pc has superior hardware 😛

I imagine I'll be able to get a Blu-gay/Hd dvd multi format burner for a couple hundred by xmas. Not that i'd get one as the hardware and media are overhyped and overpriced right now. What ps3 games do you think Sony's executives will be playing this year? None unless they can play it on thier PC's or their nintendo Wii's. LOL. 😛 Put it to you this way my friend has bought every doomed console in existence. He's bought some great consoles in his day you know the virtual boy, the dreamcast, the Jaguar and now the PS 3. [/b]

Gaaaaaah??!!!

Wow, I totally lack the verbage and nounage....or even the adjectivage to describe how eloquent DaSickNinja was in this post.

I'm stunned....fingers....can't....move....

Spock.....help.....me....

@Cleeve:
Your screnshots in low resolution. Let's see:
crysis-20060419092903240.jpg

In high resolution, Crysis don't like nature. Some element seem low polygon.
-Hardware isn't 100% effect on PC.
-GPU is not everything of Playstation 3.

I believe PS3 system can reach 8800GTX GPU performance.

Well he's my 2 cents or pennies ( i'm english)

Pc's can be really cheap and very upgradable consoles dont go down in price to quickly but gpus and cpus drop like flys when the next big thing comes out.
I'm still running a a64 3200 754 and i can run oblivion really well with a x1800xt better than a xbox 360 and I can optimize it and get new drivers, patches etc.
I'm planning to upgrade to a am2 (because there so cheap now) its gonna cost £130 Ps3 is £450 and no upgrade options.
Once you get your first rig you can just put new parts on when you need to and sell the old.

I used to be a console fan but pc games have more depth and emersion theyre not as limited.
Pc's have alot better games not aimed at children and broad audiences.
However I think nintendo has got it right all the others are hyping up old hardware.Nintendo have thought originally and thought of the way you interact with the game its the only console I would buy as it is a real alternative to pcs where graphics dont matter its how you interact.

hmm...

I know absolutely nothing about hardware, computers or the very PS3 that I adore so much

Fix'd

those killzone pix are pre-rendered, tbh all the ps3 games graphically arent a patch on a 8800 or in general higher res PC resolutions. Im not getting into the whole debate but the @PS2 preview screenshots for MGS2 were absolutely nothing like the game( which was still good btw ), check out the pix here, lol, i dont condone uk resistence, but they can be funny

Ok, so they chose horrible images but this is a gamespot image http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/image_viewer/frame_lead.php?pid=928302&img=13&sid=undefined

Now theres something wrong

Anyway, PS3 games wont be good for a year or so, same as PS2 after launch it was 18months before the good stuff appeared, currently PS3 ports of EA/Ubisoft games and the likes are far inferior yet more expensive

Made my weekly stop to the local gamestop store... PS3s were in stock (as usual)... but no Wiis. They are still flying off the shelf and nearly impossible to get - maybe next week

PS3 looks like the big loser so far in the console wars - in North America at least.
