Question PSU came without a cable for my GPU

I'm building my first pc right now and while connecting all the cables to my power supply I realise there's no cable compatible with my GPU. There's a connector which fits my gpu but not my power supply and there's a cable that fits my power supply but not the GPU.
My PSU is a fully modular EVGA G3 550watt. My GPU is a 1660 super made by zotac gaming.

I would post pictures of my connectors but I'm not sure how to.

Use cable, that has VGA written on it.
One end goes into PSU (8pin end), the other end goes into graphics card (6pin+2pin).

You should have at least one cable with a 6+2 set of connectors on it. That is for GPUs.

Full 8-pin or 4+4 connectors are for the motherboard.

So, what's a problem then? You take a cable marked as VGA on connectors , plug it into a PSU socket named VGA1 (with the end that is solid 8-pin) and the other end (which is 6+2 pins) plug into GPU. Done.

It should all work. You're doing something wrong, if it doesn't.

The 6+2 end goes in the GPU, the other in the PSU.

6+2 pin connector - you clip those together and insert into graphics card 8pin socket.
8pin connector - goes into PSU socket VGA1 or VGA2.

Did you clipped both parts so they form one connector?

If you squeeze the 6+2 together, they form the needed 8-pin connection to go into the GPU. Should be easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.

The 6+2 connector is intended to go on one way. The locking clip on it mates with the retention portion of the socket on the GPU. The connector on the GPU is a standard pin-out.

You don't have the connector flipped over, or the +2 part jammed onto the wrong side of the 6 side do you?

Did you try it? Or you're just thinking, it won't fit?
Round pin can go into square socket hole. Square pin can not go into round socket hole.

I'm sure I have it the right way here's an image of the connector next to the GPU socket. The shapes are all matching up other than the separate 2 pin connector bit.

It is possible to get connector with wrong shapes if quality control didn't their job. If that's the case your PSU has second VGA cable you can try.

Wait what? The pentagon shaped one is fine going into the square?

I already tried the second cable one side plugs into the GPU but the other side doesn't plug into the PSU.

Yes. One round shape pin goes into square socket hole.

If you can insert it without using excessive force, then nothing gets damaged.
It should fit easily.
