heh... We order so much stuff but it always takes ages to arrive... we are waiting on routers, Ethernet cords, paladin stripper/crimper tools, rj-45 ends, etc.... Blame the ROP
Fluke is $$$$. You're not using mains, so safety isn't a massive concern - and even if you are, there are companies with better gear for less $. They're the Apple of the meter world now.
I think the EEVblog has a decent thing on what you want in a multimeter for electronics.

So I've heard. Not my money, teacher swears on those things... I just get whats cheap 😛
What about XFX Core Edition PRO 550W? Is it a good PSU? On the tierlist i saw a "XFX PRO SERIES XXX", is it similar/the same?
I'm really noob about those thing, sorry :\

It's a pretty good unit. Based off the Seasonic S12ii platform (I think). I don't see it on the tier list.

Were there actual PSU reviews before, like 2005, or did PSU reviews start up in the mid 00s? What did you guys do for PSUs before there were actual reviews? Go by paper specs? Weight tests? Trusty brands?
Old days. Delta, Seasonic, PC Power and cooling. Everything else was crap. Considering power requirements were MUCH lower back then though, it wasn't as big of a deal either.
Well I wouldn't say power requirements were lower as such, 12v definitely, but the 3.3v and 5v rails were responsible for a lot more than the odd hdd you have now. Pci peripherals like the sb 16 and 26.6 v2 modems were a lot more prevalent, so motherboard wattage was definitely higher. The only thing plugged into my board is a pcie x1 / usb3 add-in.
i would say you are forgetting enermax , they did some good units in the past as well .
(better (considering the standards of the time period of course) than they are doing now) .

these days they are . now they have much more competition and their units are overpriced .
back in the day there wasn´t that many good psu manufacturers and solid units on the market .
seasonic , delta and pc power and cooling along with enermax were the best .
FSP was trying but they were always mediocre at best , anything else was garbage to be avoided ...
I had a set brand list I recommended for years. As more and more lines were released and more and more reviews started showing up it no longer made sense to recommend by brand ( except a few like Seasonic of course ) but my set list was Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, Silverstone, Delta, Enermax, OCZ, Antec and XFX. I'd still stand by most of those except their lower end offerings.

Silverstone's another one like Enermax today. Most of their units are strictly average.
I guess a lot depends on area. There were no Enermax , pcp&c, corsair or xfx around my town. Choices were limited to bfg, seasonic, delta or garbage. That is unless willing to drive 100 miles to Tampa or if you had a tiger-direct catalog. Not having resources like Tom's etc, trying to vouch safe Silverstone or OCZ etc was problematic at best. Trying to persuade a semi intelligent, pc enthusiasthe that a little known brand like OCZ was just as good as delta or Seasonic was laughable. Almost as hard as convincing them that the flashy , expensive BFG unit was often worse than the oem unit they had just burned up
