Well, since I can't use expletives here, just let me say, THAT, is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I don't care how well it's built, no 450-550w unit should EVER be that expensive. Unless it's got about four grams of gold in there somewhere.

I'm a fan of Fractal design, but I'm not a fan of their power supplies. They tend to be either poor quality or insanely overpriced.

Here's how I think of it: The majority of people's systems fall into the ~225W territory where the Hydro X 450 efficiency excels. For example, a typical GTX 960 (or 1060) system, or any of those low-end gaming rigs. The Hydro X 450 is probably the most efficient $60 PSU for that type of rig. Anything for the same or less money would not be as efficient, so over itme it could save you some money.

Then for the people with high-end rigs, the Hydro X actually has more PCIe cables than the Seasonic S12ii 520W. The S12ii has a 6+2 and a 6-pin PCIe cable. The Hydro X has two 6+2 cables, making it actually support the ultra high end GPUs whereas the Seasonic can't.

My Seasonic S12II 520 may be group regulated, but voltages are rock steady. It's also so quiet I can't hear it. The case fans and graphics card are louder.

I also do more than game, with my rigs, so cutting it close on wattage, would not be a good idea.

There are no a single model at any tier, so I can not see how bad or good they are.
Im saying this cause they are very popular in my city, and I have a lot of crazy users that are comparing them even with Seasonic . Me against all of cuban users.
Just told them huntkey is not at Seasonic level, and only OEM brands like,could

-ENERMAX( not so OEM now)
-SUPERFLOWER
-CHANNEL WELL
-DELTA ELECTRONICS
-FSP
-etc..

Huntkey is an actual manufacturer. Usually their cheap stuff is crappy, but they have some higher-end models.

Yes, I saw it at jonnyguru site, i got so angry with a friend of mine, at the point that I disamble a botomline SS500ET unit from Seasonic in front of him, giving us the surprise tha even that unit had a NIPON chemicon capacitor in primary, and Teapo(taiwan) at secondary, however all af his huntkey unit capacitors where from china.
