A lot of housefires got traced to faulty Al wiring; apparently as it oxidizes, it shrinks and/or pulls out of connections, leading to arcing, especially with connectors not specifically designed for Al wiring.

I think i will make a list of psu, with the format of this -

What do you think?

PS: Problem is i want it to be in a table like format. TH forum does not support HTML

We should just do a quarterly recommended PSU for a price bracket and try to keep out any deals, discounts or rebates as those change. We can use them when recommending on an individual level but I do not see any possible way to do a tier list without having someone complain about it or someone spending all their time on it.

Not a bad idea!

Right now one of the best units for the money is the Enermax Revolution X't II 550W for $65, no rebates or anything of the sort: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194122&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Power+Supplies-_-N82E16817194122&gclid=Cj0KEQjwxLC9BRDb1dP8o7Op68IBEiQAwWggQEJYqHpRtb03a0wkFzlPc4tJxLu25bWHVMv25wST4EUaAi9V8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Solid all-around power supply, review here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/enermax-revolution-xt-ii-750w-power-supply,4549.html

FSP Hydro X 450W, $69.99 or $59.99 after rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104229

I'd take the HGX 450 over the S12ii. Quieter, more PCIe cables, Haswell compatible, more efficient.

Edit: my bad, the Enermax review is for the 750W unit, but the 550W is the same CWT GPS platform.

So Seasonic's flagship line (Prime Titanium, Prime Platinum and Prime Gold) isn't even fully out yet, but we will already have rebrands. By XFX - they will have them in their XTI, XTS2 and XTR2 lines: http://www.orionpsudb.com/news/xfx-will-rebrand-seasonics-flagship-prime-titaniumplatinumgold-line-as-the-xfx-xti-xts2-and-xtr2-series
Unsurprising!

Hopefully the prices will stay similar, or lower, than Seasonic's own offering - that way we will simply have more awesome power supplies on the market from more than one supplier. Hopefully Seasonic will fix their factory problems to keep up with the demand...

Awesome! Thanks for the update. :)

Crap I would have bought the Coolmax! I'm don't buying Logisys units, they're all identical on the inside. Basically the difference in each one is marketing. The PS480G says it has dual fans, 4 SATAs, and a PCIe cable. All of which are false.

@design1stcode: depending on what you do with your computer and the context, changing it could have been unnecessary.
