tier 1 on toms forum , other wbsites tier 2 which is stupid because the above 650w versions are better than the g2 series.

The 650 GS is not at all better than the 650 G2 (unless of course you take the late PWR_OK signal dropping as a very serious matter). In terms of electrical performance the G2 is not only better but the G2 houses a larger fan. Smaller fans have to spin faster than larger fans to push the same amount of air and are expected to be noisier then.

Having older(EOL) units would help with the list since there will be said units in the market. If it's bad then people will be well informed with a quick look of the Tier List. If it's not included then they will just ask about as others have done so in the past.

So, a second and separate list. Start with the original egg's listing (revamped for tier changes) and just move laterally any EOL units. Maybe with a date code like Corsair CXM pre-2016 label etc. Would give some recourse when answering posts with ppl who aren't up to date on new models or fixes.

^Just because it was working on someone's system without an issue doesn't mean it was impervious to capacitor aging and load deterioration. Units like that when compared to the latest offering in the market seems like a moot point to talk about when investing.

I am building a brand new PC and I need some advice. I am probably getting a Silverstone Strider Essential 500W Gold for 115$ (which was recommended by SR-71 Blackbird from a list of PSUs on a separate thread), but Cougar GX-S650-V3 650W 80 Plus Gold recently became available for 90$ and I couldn't find reviews. Both are un-tiered, so this list can't help me.
What do you recommend?

I will be using Core i7 6700 (non-k) and Zotac GTX 1060 Mini (most probably OCed), and the case will be InWin Mana 136 or Cougar MX310 (more inclined towards InWin)

That's that we get from living in a third world country. Most people in my country don't know the difference between desktop and laptop hardware, and prefer laptops for the reasons that they are cheaper (without understanding the specs difference) and portable. That's what caused the prices to be insanely high and left us with very limited options.

I have found and read one review of the Silverstone and it didn't get a good score (very bad ripple suppression). And after I asked the question, I have read some reviews of Cougar in german. I couldn't find english reviews because it is new (released in late July).
So, for the time being, I am choosing Cougar psu since it's newer, cheaper and in stock (I have to wait for the strider and I can't get a confirmation for the estimated time of restocking).

Hi there Joseph! here in Phil, as much as we can, we avoid the Cougar brand since many of the users report that their PSU started smoking/something exploded on some point, some reports burnt marks on their PSU's board, and some power inconsistency like sudden shutdowns, etc.. these reports are coming from the CMX series users.

In my opinion, go with the strider, just be patient its for your own pc's safety in the long run. Hope this helps.
