I have a 650w Prime Titanium coming to replace my Seasonic X-650w... Then I will use the X-650w (One YO) to replace the old M12ii 650w (5 YO).

Will use the M12ii 650w (SS-650AM) as a backup unit.

Here is the Current Seasonic Discontinued list off the redone Website.

X Series - 7 years (5 years if purchased before September 2012)

G Series - 5 years

S12G Series - 5 years

M12II Series - 5 years(3 years if purchased before September 2012)

TFX Series - 5 years

And the Current Models:

S12II Series - 5 years (3 years if purchased before September 2012)

ECO Series - 3 years

The TX650m should last 7 years under full load 24/7 at 50C.

If you want my guess on why it's 51A instead of 54A, not that I think it really matters anyway, it's probably because reviewers won't load it as high that gives the TX650M better scores on reviews.

Just got one, and they don't use the ribbon's on the PCIe or CPU cables.

Mine doesn't have them.

Very well. But it misses the corsair TX series and the new CM MasterWatt, as well as enermax Duo, Enermax new EvoBron replaces the old Triathlon

Here is the 4x4 CPU cable, comes with 2 of them, as for the rest I posted all kinda of pictures, but not of the back side of the build. And the ones in question, 2x PCIe and the other 4x4 CPU cable are being used.

And the BOX, notice it's the NEWER one, says 12 Year Warranty.

Swapped out the last M12ii I was using, the M12ii 650W (5 YO) with the X-650W (1 YO) I took out.

The interesting thing was I never realized how much noise the M12ii was making until I put that machine into the new case. All the fans are silent and the CPU cooler (Noctua) is dead silent so the only fan left was in the M12ii. And I could hear it when I walked past the PC. In the old case etc the cases fans made noise as did the OEM CPU cooler so I never heard the PSU fan over those.

Now it's dead silent with the X-650W in there as in you have to put your ear right next to the case (like 1 inch away) to hear anything at all.

That's more like it. :)

I see. On another note, I don't really understand his scoring anymore. Nothing bad, at all, to say about the unit, but it only scores a 9.4, while some other older reviews that DO have at least one bad thing to say, like some minor fluctuation in ripple or something else that is borderline, scores a 9.6. Seems like he ought to go back and revise the scoring to reflect how he scores things now, so that scoring will be appropriate and similar across the board.

Or simply score on performance only, and simply add an annotation to the effect that pricing could be better PLUS "I didn't like this, but it didn't affect performance". Whatever though, since he and Aris are the only ones really doing any worthy reviews I suppose he can do whatever he likes anyhow.

I don't either, the Ultra Prime Ti 650W scored less than the Standard Prime Ti 650W, I have the standard non-Ultra model.

He tested both models, same method on both and scoring method.

In a recent interview, I posted the link a couple months back, he talks about how incredible good PSU are now, so he has to be extremely "nit picky"(I don't remember his exact terminology) now. People have become quite fussy about power supplies in recent years.

Jonnyguru hasn't done the Jonnyguru reviews for several years now. Even more so now that he works for Corsair - obviously that would be a huge conflict of interest.

But I guess Oklahomawolf would say much the same.

OW wolf would never ever go back to old units and change scores. Don't count on it in a million years. For one thing, new PSUs are scored stricter because the standards for what is "good" is no longer the same. So when you see a 9.0 score that's a 9.0 score for whatever year the review it was, and you always have to keep that in mind. Also, hope and pray for the best of his father, he has cancer so he's been super busy with helping out his father.

I remember reading something to the effect of the new high end units are so good they would all be 10's so he had to change some things to make it harder.

In the video Jonny talks about the company's performance leap frogging each other because of reviews.

Here are some of things JonnyGURU talks about that I found interesting.

Some of the things that people assume is that if it has an 80 Plus Certification is an automatic means of quality, right. Where it is just a means of efficiency. Some of the things you want to look at is what the temperature rating of the PSU is for example. Some of the cheaper units are only rated at 25C, and it's never going to be only 25C in your PC. The important part is that parts have a D Curve rating. As those parts get hotter their output declines.

The whole capacitor issue in my opinion is kind overblown. Even the Japanese capacitors you get aren't even made in Japan they are actually just Japanese brand made in China.

One thing that is really overlooked is the fan. That's the first thing that's going to die in a power supply.

"Mythic quality" is what he says they call new high quality PSUs on his website.

I saw that. 😀

They just keep getting better all the time, the high quality ones anyway.

I did notice how careful he was being about what he said in the video, especially when it came to Corsair PSU questions.
