Its a good product. I'd get it for 100e.

Maybe IPS screen warrants 150e... Strange that they chose to use good screen for a mediocre product, drives price unnecessarily up..

$0, no Adobe Flash or Camera. I'll get another Android more capable device before this. This iPad is just an iPod Touch on steroids.

absolutely no interest. I'd rather have a netbook. Besides, my iPhone (I'd rather have a droid) does most everything the iPad does. I suspect iPad will have a short life.

[citation][nom]Rajahamshakal[/nom]Between a cellphone and a netbook say 180 - 230 USD.[/citation]

Really? Coz its NOT a cell phone, and it isn't a netbook. It lacks anything useful from either of those 2 device classes.

i'd use it if i get it for free. apparently netbooks are better alternative in my opinion beating the ipad and renders it useless at any price point.

I wouldn't without a USB port. I've spent the last 20 years being locked down by MS, and although I love my iPhone, and the iPad would be nice, I'm sick to F'n death of corps controlling my devices and my software, and really until html5 gets big, not having flash will be twice as painful.

$250 for 64GB Wi-Fi. Apple's mark up on flash memory is ridiculous. Why is there not an SD slot? Because they want to screw you on the memory. Many will prefer iPads to netbooks because of quick start up time, thinness, and light weight. I personally buy their stock, but not their products. People are like lemmings and we can't do much about it but profit from it.

$50, then its worth the parts i can salvage for building my own, IMPROVED tablet

The price isn't as much a factor as the usability of the product. No removable battery, so the device needs to be replaced or sent back to Apple with any battery issue.

If I'm outside and on the move I have my mobile device. The small screen stinks and the 3G is usually slow, but it serves well for quickly checking docs, google searches, etc.

In a hotel, job site, vacation, I'll usually have some sort of laptop with me.

At home I'll use the laptop or be at my desktop for the screen real estate, games, or long surf sessions.

There are very limited times where I see a tablet as being realistically useful, but there are plenty of people who feel Apple is cool, have plenty of disposable income, and $500-800 is nothing for them in order to be seen with the device.

I still wouldn't buy the first version of the device. The second version of the IPhone made several key improvements and it will be the same with this device.

Of course for many people who buy IPad 1 they will also just buy IPad 2 when it comes out and sell the old device on Ebay.

I would pay 500 euros for the 16gb wifi version, u guys u do know that the hardware apple is paying is about 200 and throw in another 100 for the OS, and they are actually kind of only earning the 200 imo.

Nothing, I don't want one. But if I got one for free, I suppose I would take it.

It's like all the disadvantages of a netbook and iPod/iPhone combined into one oversized, bulky device. Then they added a few more "unfeatures" for good measure, like no webcam or USB.

There are some scenarios where a netbook would make more sense than a laptop, but I can't think of any reason to choose an iPad over a netbook. iPhone or iPod instead of netbook, sure, but not the iPad.

Less than $500 for the WiFi model, since that's what I paid for my ASUS T91MT which can do much more than an iPad.

And less than $650 for a 3G+ model since I can get a USB modem for less and get faster speeds than on the iPad.

Nothing new, and less features than the competition, so right now you'd have to pay me to take one (thankfully that's what's going to happen) and even then I'll stick with my ASUS and Fujitsu tablets thanks.

This is essentially the end result of the CrunchPad, but with LESS features and even that was meant to be low-end.

$0. Don't need or want one. If I absolutely had to have something to fil the gap between my phone and laptop a netbook would be the logical choice.

iPod shuffle: 49.99
iPod nano: 99.99
iPod giganto: 149.99
iPod touch: 199.99
iPhone: 199.99 (got that contract to work with so same price as touch)
now....
the iPad....
249.99 for base and 299.99 for 3g.
