Query on Windows XP Bootup Error

When i Boot the System using Windows XP, intially it gives error as below:-

16 bit MS Dos subsystem NTVDM CPU has encounterd illegal instruction,
an dialouge box popup when Windows XP start the bootup,

Please do you have any solutions for the same.

Rename updatemgr.exe and/or ntvdm.exe to xx.old, you may need to take ownership.

Insert your XP CD and run SFC, to get the system to check for missing core files and hopefully reload a fresh copy.
