first off i apologize if this has been asked. i used the forum search and nothing. well so far my luck really sucks. my video card fan died so i sent it back (evga geforce 8500gt 256mb) anyhow they sent me back a (evga geforce 8600gt 256mb) and on the side of the box it says that it requires a 350watt power supply which is fine. but it also says it requires 18 amps on the +12 volt rail. i have tried to find out if my power supply has this but so far nothing just wattages etc. i contacted evga and the man i spoke to told me i had to go into bios and set the voltages and mess around in this bios with voltage settings? personally i think he had no idea what he was talking about. but i just want my new card to work 🙁 any help would be appreciated and again i apologize if this has been brought up before.
Chris.

He had no idea what he was talking about. 😉

There is no way of knowing how much power the PSU can provide as the required details are not provided. I'm willing to bet that you have more than 18A, probably around 20-22A (judging by the low individual 12V current maximums) but that's just a very rough guess and could be entirely wrong.

how can i tell if my power supply has 18 amps on the +12 volt rail. looked at antecs site and it does not show anywhere.

sorry i am very new to the whole +12volts and all that. where does it show how many amps on the +12 volt rail for example? you guys also have helped alot thanks again i appreciate it!
