1. will an ATI x1400 256mb GPU be able to play WoW in a 2.00ghz C2D laptop? (dell inspiron 9400)

2. If it can't then will there be any way to upgrade the GPU on this laptop?

all need the graphics to do is run WoW. I have another computer to run intensive games. BTW i need the processor power for premier pro 2.0 and win rar, also some video/audio encoders.

From what i've read. WOW runs OK on integrated solutions (like Macbook), albiet, not awesome, but good enough. It's no where near as intense as Oblivion. Having some video mem in the form of an x1400 will help with extra eye candy. More power may not really be neccesary for that one game,., but don't quote me on it. Having a C2D 2.0ghz will come in handy for audio and video work. Graphics solutions enable better 3d, which isn't a priority for you it seems. But the 1400 will definitely help with movie and photo picture quality, external monitor with video editing for maximum screen real estate and WOW gaming.

I can play WoW on my Acer laptop:

2.0 GHz AMD Mobile Sempron 3300+
1 GB (2 x 512 MB) DDR-SD RAM ~ 300 MHz (150 DDR)
128 MB Integrated SiS M760GX ~ 175 MHz GPU, 225 MHz RAM
-

And I play it fine enough.
