Quick question about quad channell memory

Why aren't quad channell memory used in mainboards. Most, if not all has 4 memory slots. And works dual channell. Is there a problem double bandwich again ? Just wandering

Do the math; everything else would be bottlenecking you RAM then I guess. But seriously: I am wondering, too.
