My understanding of a processors VID was that it was the stock voltage that the processor should run at. That being said I have been running Prime95 on my OC 3.2GHz Q6600 VID 1.3000 for 12+ hours @ 1.256Vcore. Is that normal? Or am I underclocking my system too much.

Show off!! he he... anyways if ur system is running stable at 3.2Ghz, at 1.256 then u r a really blessed person... Stop complaining and enjoy urself and get some higher overclocks!!

u can go upto 1.6volts on this processor as I have heard..For 24/7 use, I think 1.5 is ok.. Although a lot will depend on ur cooling, ambient temps and ram too... If its atleast booting, then UP the voltage a notch or two at a time..
And also, try disabling "Load line calibration" if u havent already... AnandTech did a test on it and found the voltage spikes resulting from enabling LLC were too high and its better to turn it off, (u save a little power from turning it off too)..

also, give a little more info on ur ram, mobo, cooling and ambient temps and use coretemp to monitor ur temps and put it up here..

As a follow up, I BSOD around 14ish hours. Next couple up voltages BSOD immediately upon starting Prime95. Oh well, it was a fun dream while it lasted
