So I have a r9 290, the problem is that when I plug it in and fire it up, the fans spin, and everything looks good, but there is no display output, I have used both DVI and HDMI on 2 separate monitors, but still no output? I have now put my 270x back in and it is working fine...

My PSU is a 550w XFX Pro, I understand that this isn't an ideal PSU for this card, but I have done the research and I should be able to run the card as long as I don't OC. Please help, thanks in advance.

Whats the rest of your system specs?
and I doubt 550 is enough wattage for the card I own the Sapphire R290 myself And I upgraded to a 1000 watt PSU because of this a lot get ready for the black screens as well the cards are known to just turn black by themselves this issue is well over a year old on the cards many complaints about it.
Go to www.pcpartspicker.com and enter your specs there and it will tell you estimated power usage the card is power hungry 750 watts is recommended,
350w is what your card uses by itself.

Pull the card out then do the quoted change in BIOS, put it back in and see if Windows Detects it
