r9 290 running hot on idle?

Kind of worried that it's at 67c at idle. It's in a corsair 550d with lots of fan and the side and top panels popped open so ventilation is not a problem.

Temps underload are ok though at 72-74c.

Latest drivers from AMD.

The 290's are known to run hot , since your temps under load don't go too high it appears to be normal.
Adjust the cards fan curve using MSI Afterburner if you would like to drop the temps more , but the card will get louder.

Nope. Its a non-ref cooler btw. So the temps are really like that?

The thing is there was a time when the temps were at 35-40c a few weeks back when I first got it./
