I have an Amd Radeon 6950 IceQ X HD turbo. I'm running the Intel Quad core i5-3750 (Overclocked) with 16 gb of ddr3 ram. Windows 7 Pro. 64bit. I have a Cooler Master Gx 650 watt power supply hooked up to it. I have the latest drivers installed for the card from the manufactures website. (haven't tried rolling back yet, that's my next step) It has been working fine. I have been watching the card temp and it has NEVER got over 46 degrees Celsius. but when I'm playing certain games out of nowhere the fps drops dramatically, then jumps back up after a minute or two. Need some help with this issue.

HIS IceQ X Turbo H695QNT2G2M Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity. I'm running 2x Asus VW226 @ 1680 x 1050 Res and the main Monitor is an Asus vs239 @ 1920 x 1080 Res. (triple Monitor setup, with the VS239 in the center and with a VW226 on each side.) Also I forgot to give my motherboard it's a Z77 pro 4 m. with the Xfast cap.

Download MSI afterburner and turn on gpu memory usage in the osd, do your fps drop when it gets near the 2gb limit of your gpu's ram?

If so, you are probably hitting ram limit.

Play around with your settings to try to keep it withing your GPU's memory size.

If you dont see any more fps drops, well there ya go. =)

I want to thank everyone for their replies. after looking around I finally found what was causing the fps drops. I had the incorrect d3d9.dll file installed into my game directory and my ENB was doing some haywire things causing the serious fps drops. i'm now back up to 55-60 FPS and holding steady (after I traded out the d3d9.dll file for the correct one. )
