Radeon X850 XT

Started having a little issue after installation. The card works fine and the driver installed fine, but each time I reboot, it keeps detecting new hardware. I just cancel out and everything still works, just wondering what can be causing this. This is what the Device Manager looks like after reboot.....

I downloaded "Option 1 - Full Software Suite" which says it includes the WDM Drivers.......

I never used this revision but 9.3 seams to work best when I used my x1900xt for 6 months. I suggest 9.3 and see if any improvement is made also clean out the old drivers with driver cleaner.

I used 9.3 for vista 64 but there is a win xp and vista 32 drivers as well. Look for the xp version of 9.3.

If you have it try using the drives from the cd that came with the card to see if it works.

The drivers on the disk that comes with this card is about 5-6 years old and horribly out of date.

I just noticed that they updated the version to 10.2, I'm going to try that and see what happens.

I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to uninstall my previous version of 9.11 and updated to 10.2. Installed step by step but still having the same issue.

Sorry for the delay....been pretty busy. I tried the 9.3 XP version that you recommended and it worked! There is no "? Unknown Device", thanks for your help.

I have had this question myself. It turns out the unknown mystery device is the ATI Unified AVstream Driver, and the latest full Catalyst update should contain drivers, mine did.

It is a WDM driver, so after selecting the folder with your version of windows and making sure to choose the WDM drivers, then search out the corresponding AVS folder for your installation and the drivers should be inside.

I didn't have to download any different software or catalysts.
