HI!

I'm currently in the grand crusade of buying a new set up, and since in my country (buying in amazon is not an option for Argentina, sorry guys :( ) there is kindda not many Motherboards & CPUs options, at least at the moment of writing this post, I was wondering:

I have an Aorus B450M Elite (Official site link).... Can it support 3200 or 3600 Mhz RAM while I wait for the things I want to be in store?

As far as I know, I need to activate XMP and it would be just fine! (with the new RAMs ofc).

So yeah, that's my question!

Yes.

Specs: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-AORUS-ELITE-rev-1x/sp#sp
Read the "Memory" chapter.

90% of the times - Yes.

The other 10% is when XMP doesn't work, here, you need to manually OC your RAM from BIOS (manually entering the frequency and timings values + voltage).

And in ~2% of the times, even manual RAM OC doesn't work, so you can't run your RAM faster than 2133/2400/266/2933 MHz, despite RAM module(s) being 3200/3600 Mhz. This is the nature of RAM OC (XMP).

how would I know, by the way, if it works or not? Is the performance tab in task manager a good indicator??

To see if your XMP holds, you can download and use HWinfo64,
link: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

Running it in "summary only" will do. There, you can see "clock" under Memory section. Multiply the "clock" value by 2, to know the real effective speed. (Since RAM is DDR - Double Data Rate.)

For example, my "clock" in Memory tab is ~1506 Mhz = ~3000 Mhz. And this is the XMP i've set my RAM to run on in BIOS.
For 3200 Mhz, the "clock" would show ~1600 Mhz and for 3600 Mhz, the "clock" would show ~1800 Mhz.
