I was just wondering if there is an upside-down to a case fan...



Yes, I know there is a backwards depending on what way you want the airflow to go-- but is there an upside down/sideways?

Not really, but some people say that Sleeve Bearing fans can only be mounted horizontally.

You can mount case fans horizontally (blowhole on a V3 for instance) so they pull air out the top of a case, or vertically (on the front, side, or rear).

Air travels through the fan ...

What I am trying to say is this: Does a case fan have a side that should always be facing up?

I ask this because I arranged my fans in order to get the wires coming out on the side closest to the psu.

(If the question is still worded in a confusing way I apologies)

To the best of my knowledge the only thing that matters is the direction of airflow. I have often rotated fans so the fan power cable could reach a fan connector on a motherboard. In fact, I just did it again with one of the case fans in my brand new Lian Li Dragon Lord case. It works just fine.
