I have ASUS P3V4X motherboard (old i know) and It's support AGP 4X .
My computer specs: P3 850Mhz + 512 SDRAM + GeForce 2 MX440.

I want to connect simultaneously my monitor and my plasma (playing movies from the computer to the plasma).

The monitor has VGA input and so the plasma, I asume that a card with DVI and VGA outputs can be used.
* In the future I'll buy an LCD monitor with DVI input and for now I can use the DVI to VGA cable or adapter for my CRT monitor.

My budget is up to 100$ and I just want the best card for Multi Display and maybe something that also allow me to play HDTV contents smoothly (720P is enough)
(my GeForce2 doesn't play 720p smoothly)

I'm sorry to tell ya but if you want a graphics card that will play both at the best possible HD then 100 bucks isn't going to cut it. You can, however, get a card that has dual displays. I had a 6800 LE that I set up for a friend. I used Svideo and ran it into his reciever. I don't think it was the card but his standard TV didn't look too great. Maybe with a plasma you will have better resolution luck. I know that the newer cards like my x1900xt has HD support but not all cards do. Usually the higher end cards do.

Well, First of all HD is not my primary goal, it's just that my old GeForce 2 can play 720P but not smoothly so I thought that maybe (anyway) a newer card will do a better job.

I'm not sure but I've assumed that connecting VGA and DVI simultaneously will be the same as connecting VGA to monitor and TV-Out (Svideo) to the TV.

If it's not a problem to connect simultaneously via VGA and DVI then I need a Recommendation for a card that will do a good job in Multi Display in resolutions:
1024X768 for monitor and at list 853X480 for plasma (both at list in 85Hz).

100$ is not enough for that ?

Look around on newegg. I suppose that I can do that. Are you looking to play video games or just merely watch movies and what not? Out of curiousity. You can watch your tv and computer screen on dvi and vga. That is if your tv has a vga output. Most cards that have dvi come with an adapter anyhow. I will check on newegg and let ya know.

Games are also not my primary goal as HD Contents.

My primary needs is playing movies in max resoulutions of 768X576 (DVD, DivXXviD, DVCAM...), and I suppose that everything I can do with GeForce 2 will be covered by a newer card .

I don't have much knowledge in Graphics Cards and I prefer to ask for Recommendation becuse I want to make sure that I'll buy the most suitable card.
I don't think that choosing card by budget is wise .

As I mensioned before, my ASUS motherboard support AGP X4.

I understand that you're recommending on ATI Radeon X550 card, Thanks !

Any more recommendations ?

If you can get the 6800 v9999ge by asus, it is a rock solid card it has a gfx chip and I can say it has done a super job for me. No problem with running dual monitor at all. Great ocer as well the ge stands for gamers edition also it is cheap. I am running for a year 100 MHZ over the clock. I can play all the high end games with no problem with great frames. I use dual monitors 21in nec and a crappy ttx. This has been usefull for maya and brousing the net while playing games and soo much more.

also remember that nview use twin view I have used them all and none that I used yet matched the nview options. You can make multi desttops and the options for each monitor and desktops are great some people had problems but I think they need to explore the options a little more to see the full out come of nview.

its not the best pic my cam is a crappy one. The pic on the bigger monitor
is the post I am responding too.
People were having problems with their desktop Icons switching back to display 1 if they used the snap edges to 100 pix they would have solved the problem.

gomerpile,

I'm sorry but the budget is up to 100$.
I have an old computer and the 6800 card worth more than my computer.
What about the 6600 card?

prozac26,

Why 9800Pro? Why ATI?

Everyone,

For Multi Display - ATI or nVidia?

OK so I guess the ATI 9800Pro will do a better job on MultiDisplay in my budget (?).

In spite of that the budget is still up to 100$ what about the 9600pro or 9700Pro?

My next upgrade is a new computer  .

the head2go is nice but not suitable to my existing card.

I think that the 9600Pro would be a good choice...

 Is this possible that maybe all I really need is just a simple card like my geforce 2 with VGA and DVI outputs ?

I went to a store today and the seller says that my computer is old so that the 6600 or 9800Pro will be to much and I can be satisfied with a much simple card like geforce 5500 (which also will be much better then my current Geforce 2).

It's true that my machine is old and that's the reason I ask:

* do I realy need a card like 9800Pro or 6600?
* Maybe my budget was to high for my needs?

I have an update:

I have consulted with other people about my case and decided that my budget was really high and that 6600 or 6800 or 9800 cards will give me the same results as much simpler cards like 6200 or 9250 for my computer .

I think that the radeon 9250 128Bit 256MB of sapphire will be a good choice.

Thank you very much!
