Recovering Offline folders after disjoin from domain

A workstation that was using offline folders was disjoined from a
domain. The domain controller was also lost and therefore the
workstation cannot be rejoined to the same domain again.

We need to recover the offline files on the workstation, but when
attempting to access them from a local admin account, access is denied.
I can gain access to the original offline folder path
\\server\users\username but access is denied when attempting to access
the folders & files.

How to I recover these offline folders or override the permissions on
the offline folders in order to gain access to them? This user has no
other backups of the files and is desperate.

Can anyone help? You can also mail me directly if you have any
suggestions: cuan@supertron.co.za

Hello,

Have you found an answer to this one yet. I have the same thing going on
and I can't seem to find any information on how to recover it.

Thanks

Have you signed in with ADMIN rights and taken ownership of the
files/folders in question?

I logged in with a local administrator account and I have set permissions to
be full and taken ownership on C:\WINDOWS\CSC along with subfolders and files
but still no luck.

Thanks

Since the machine was on a domain, were the files protrected by the Network
Admin login/password?

The funny thing is the subfolders and files in CSC had no permissions set at
all so I set it to be the local administrator account but it didn't help. I
set it to create a link on the desktop for the offline folder and I can see
the files there but when I click on any of them it times out and gives me an
eror "The document name or path is not valid". Even files that says "only
local copy exists"and "always available offline".

Thanks
