Question Red Screen while booting

I just got a new graphics card and power supply and when i hooked them up my screen turned red. Its not solid read. Its basically just red everywhere theres supposed to be black. It boots up to the point when id have to put my password in then the graphics card shuts off, the fans stop spinning and all. Please help. Im certain the graphics card is seated all the way on the board.

Double check that your video cable is firmly attached on both ends. Also, are you using any adapters to attach your PC to the display?

Its attached all the way. There are no adapters. the hdmi port is slightly chipped. I dont have a display port cable to test if that is the problem. However (and i may be completely wrong) i thought hdmi port wouldnt affect the image like that. So i didnt think much of it.

Do you have another HDMI cable to test with?

Yea ive tried using a different cable. The female end on the graphics card is chipped.

Try laying your hands on a DP cable and trying it. A small chip should make no difference, if only cosmetic.
