Hi Everyone,

My friend handed down his i7-920 to me and I'm trying to build a cheap system around it. Newegg through Ebay has a manufacturer refurb EVGA 131-GT-E767-RX for 90 bucks. New is 149.99. Is getting a refurb board a horrible idea? Anyone have any experience ?

Thanks!

You should do a little background research on these no name websites you keep linking to if you want people to follow your advice. Their reseller reviews suck. I have been buying computer parts online as long as computer parts have been available online and I had never heard of either of these places.

I would gladly pay more to...
Well I'm not trying to put it on the cheapest board. That particular evga board has great reviews and has everything I need. I just wasn't sure about trying out a refurb board. Gonna contact newegg about the returns now.

I would buy a refurbished EVGA board over a new Zotac any day. As long as it still has the warranty.

I would gladly pay more to deal with newegg. Not that newegg is expensive.

Okay, so they said I would have 30 days to return or get a refund . Also they would cover shipping if defective. Also on the Evga wwebsite it says refurb gets a 1 year warranty. No box or cables included. Sounds pretty good to me.
