I was wandering if anyone had any suggestion on which motherboard I could use in a compaq presio 5000 case. I would like to fix this up for my son. just need one that will take a P4 or AMD of equal power?

thank you

This should be standard Micro ATX motherboard and ATX12V power supply. I've fitted a few replacement boards and PSUs into Presario 5000 chassis and the only issue was the cable for the front panel USB ports wouldn't work with the USB headers on the motherboard.

I wouldn't bother with the P4 board since you'll need new DDR2 RAM for it, leaving you within $50 ~ $60 of a new LGA 775 CPU that would be superior to any P4.
